1998 120HP Force Issues

Having a issue with my force.. It is slow to plane out, then it want go above 30 mph. Ive checked the compression, spark plugs. etc. So my question what is wrong?? What should I check next..

So what are the compression readings? Was there spark on all plugs? Have you tried the drop cylinder test to see if you're firing on all cylinders? One thing about these late 120's is its reed problems. But you need to pinpoint which cylinder you diagnosed is not firing or misfiring.

Check for water in the fuel?

Does it rev up and just not go anywhere?
What's the max rpm's?

​Like Jiggz asks: what are the comp readings?
Spark on all 4?

Any fouling on the plugs?
All plugs burning the same?

​The primer/choke: pinch the lead from the primer to the float bowl and see if that makes a difference.
Pull the fuel pump and check the diaphragm.
Change the fuel filter.

I found out what the problem was. The throttle cable was stuck or slipping or something... Motor runs great now..
