1998 150 faststrike lower unit

ok here i go i have a 1998 johnson 150 faststrike .my lower unit peed a little water .when i changed the oil the other day .the shaft seems a bit sloppy .when you pullout on it little slop so ive been looking for another lower unit .my question is .my lower unit on the front top were it bolts to the upper housing has a little plastic elbow with a line hooked to it .i assume it went to my speedo .ive been searching ebay .and looking at pics of other lower units i dont see this elbow .anybody no what exactly it is .

You got it! If you weren't using it before you don't need a case with one already on it.

Since there's really nothing wrong with yours, when you get another one can I have your old one?
