1998 225hp optimax ecm problem

I am working on a 1998 225hp opti it has a bad ecm. It wont operate #5 injector. It calls for ecm #856496 13 but I want to know if I could replace it with a 859610 54 off a 2001 manufactured in feb 2001. Does anyone know if it will work?

I tried to use it but couldnt even turn motor over does not work for this motor
