I CLEANED AND REGAPPED MY PLUGS TODAY , 1 PLUG HAD CARBON BUILD UP,THE OTHER 5 LOOKED GREAT. DO I HAVE A COMPRESSION PROBLEM OR COULD IT BE SOMETHING ELSE.
my two cents...one plug fouled can mean a bad plug, wire, weak coil,or the carb that controls that plug too rich, stuck rings,,compression check would be a good idea then check for a good 7/16 spark if you got a good spark try a new plug,
it could still be firing but just not as strong to burn off all the carbon . I have a 200 hp ocean pro and the marina had switced two of my primary orange wire leading to my coil I was firing on all 6 but two of them were firing at the wrong time causing two plugs to be black my motor ran on the muffs rough..never took it out I knew something was wrong, found the problem with the timing light to me a 98 two stroke should not run rough at idle , if your coil has some crud behind it not grounding properly maybe thats causing it,, when I switched my two wires it was like a light switch it ran smooth and idle nice
I maybe wrong but I think the recirculation valve is on all the cylinders. On your engine look for a hose about 5/32, comming out of the bottom of the cylinder and running to the intake manifold. Disconnect from the engine and blow though it. It should be a one way valve. not real sure with way it set up though. I would check all the valve. Also dont use a compresor to test youll break the valve. But test it both ways from the engine and then disconnect from the intake and blow to the engine.
The valves are on the intake. Their position on the intake may not correspond with the same cylinder that the carb serves. Trace the hose from the cylinder with the carboned plug to the recirculation valve. That is the one we want to test. Won't hurt to test them all though.
The spark was good and here are the compression #'s.

100 102
100 102
90 95

The cylinder @ 90 was the one with the carbon on the plug.
