hello I have a 1998 40 hp force the trouble i am having with it is it will not shut off i did ck switch and it is sending ground back when the key is in off pos
Sounds like you have an open ground connection. If the switch is working, you might check for a disconnected wire or ground jumper on the terminal block on the engine itself. The Black/Yellow wires that comes from each of the CDM's (coils) is what gets grounded when you turn the key to the "off" position.
