After setting idle 3 years, the motor will only start after I pour fuel in the choke intake, then runs 3 seconds. At most it has 40 hours on it. I'm guessing it is the carburetor, even though it was run dry before storing. I have taken the carb off the engine, but have not disassembled. New spark plug gapped at 0.040". Am I on the right track? There was fuel in the bowl. What problems will I have when I get into the carb? Can I just use the normal engine carb spray to clean, or do I need a carb overhaul kit? In the future can I use automobile carb cleaners and stabilizers in the fuel?
