hey guys I have dual 98 90 hp Johnson’s that I have been having issues with the one motor . Serial number j90slecm on both. Problem I’ve been having is when I put the one motor in gear and give it gas it stalls, 80 precent of the time sometimes it runs fine. When it does run fine I can run it great then I stop and it will start and idle a little rough and then the same problem starts again . Also, sometimes the no oil light comes on and it’s a constant buzz so I shut it down. I thought maybe the carbs needed to be done. So I pulled them off and re did them the other day. Took it to the river today and same problem couldn’t even get off the dock to far . While doing the carbs I didn’t notice any obstructions or crude in the jets or needle seat or anything but I did them anyway.
also, when I had the carbs off I thought maybe the it was a fuel line issue from the tank to the motor. So I pumped the Priming bulb and a solid stream of gas was coming through the fuel line so I don’t think it is up stream.
Also I thought it might be the fuel pump. So while doing the carbs I had that off to. Once apart I did not notice any rips or tears in any of the pumps parts. So I put it back together and back on. The other motor runs fine no issues at all all off the same fuel tank.
Where should I go to next ?
Fuel pump still might be bad? There pretty costly so I want to make sure.
Thankd guys for any input .
