This is a 1998 90 HP two stroke on a bass boat I bought this summer. When tilted up the motor leaks down. During use, the external seal on the left hand trim cylinder tries to work its way out. Standard procedure before a day on the water is to re-seat the seal. The problem is barely noticable on hot days, and really bad on cold days. I've been to one Yamaha shop so far and these guys had no clue, suggested replacing the whole tilt/trim unit.
