1998 cajun fish and ski

I have a 1998 Cajun fish and ski with a 200 horse Johnson outboard the motor will start right up with the air muffs and run until I kill it take it to the lake and I’ll run great as long as you don’t stop the engine we come back to the dock and stop the engine and it will not start it will turn over but will not start up it’s got spark on all six plugs what is it hey sit for a bit then it will start right up again any Advice is greatly appreciated

You state that it's got spark although the engine will not start.... that spark would need to jump a 7/16" air gap. Does it? Just because it will jump the plug gap when the plug is removed... that actually is no test. The 7/16" air gap is important!

Look closely at the stator under the flywheel to see if it is dripping a sticky looking substance down upon the powerhead area. Let us know what you find.

Is that one of the 60* V6 engines?

If so, it seems to be fairly common. A possible workaround is to, before shutdown, run her a minute or two at idle to cool her off. When ready to restart her, advance the throttle a bit. Let her run a few minutes at high idle, before putting her in gear.
