Hi All,
I have just built a DF70 which I purchased in lots of bits after the previous owner submerged the motor. Yesterday, I finally had assembled enough of the motor to finally "light the fire inside", and it did start, but will only run for about 10 seconds before dying. I think I have a low pressure fuel pump problem - I have the service manual, and parts list, but I still cant work out what drives it. The manual says it is cam driven, but I can't see where it would be driven from the camshaft - any ideas ? Another web page also suggested it may be crank pressure driven. I tried manually pumping the fuel bulb when running, but it still shuts down.
I am also getting an error code 34 - MAP sensor - would this be causing the engine to stop ? I would think it should still run even with a dodgy sensor, as I believe this would "fine tune" the running.
Thanks in advance
Rob
