1998' Ficht 150 w/ Up-grade

Can anyone with experiece tell me if the 02' up-grade to the 150 HP 98'Ficht engines did any good? What was the problem? and most of all will this engine leave me stranded? Thanks, for the reply.

jmr44, i have a 98 evinrude ocean pro 150 ficht fuel injection & its a very good engine . i bought this engine used and my evinrude mechanic said that this engine had been updated . this is by far the best engine weve ever had . i wouldnt sweat it if i were you .

Hello to all, new member here.<br />I have a question. Currently working with a client purchasing a pair of 1999 225 Fichs.<br />I've reviewed some of the conserns with the engine. I don't want my client to get burned in this deal. 2yrs of confirmed warrentee still exist. Is there a upgrade that can be done to resolve the issues this motor has?????

Moppie,<br /><br />There were upgrades/modifications. Any dealer should be able to tell you what was done to the engines. I believe they will need the serial #'s.

djohns19 <br />Thanks, I thought they must have figured out something. I deal mostly with gas/diesel inboards and therefore am out of touch with the new outboards.
