1998 force

I have a stupid question but I am willing to ask it to save my self. Are there any tips to getting the lower unit off? the nuts are off except for one wich is on about five turns for safety. I dont think it has ever bben off. Is there agasket between upper and lower can I mess that up if I run a blade in the crack? I also took off the zinc tab.

Assuming this is your 90hp motor......<br />There is another bolt up inside the hole where the zinc was mounted.<br /><br />No gasket.

thanks for the reply on both. Yes this is the 90. I took the advise and bought a manuel. guess I should read it .

Yes but unless it is specific to your motor it may not show all the screw or bolts. Better to ask. That hidden bolt is a bear to find if you don't know where.
