1998 johnson 150 faststrike lower unit

ok.i have a 1998 johnson 150 faststrike .had it about three months .yesterday i changed the oil in lower unit .and:eek: guess what water pissed out for a second then came the oil .so hears my question how hard is it for me to put new seals in it . any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciatted .is that lower unit going to be hard to break down . thanks in advance .

you might try refilling with properoil and adding new seals on vent and fill screws. check for metal when you pull bottom one
then you can run unit and see if it still gets water
resealing one can be done but ihave found that its best to have a shop
reseal and pressure test
around here the price is one HOUR LABOR 2 75$ and the seal kit

Takes alot longer than an hour or 2 to do a complete re-seal. Drop the lower unit, Prop shaft seals, bearing carrier O-ring, drive shaft seal, and shift rod O-rings. Might as well do a water pump while you've got it off.
