1998 johnson 90hp

hello i have a 1998 johnson 90hp starts great idles and runs great at 3000rpm then it starts to sputter going faster but not all the time sometimes it will run good the entire ride or it will run bad then all of a sudden run good we usually run it slow because we are not in a hurry just riding around slow when it does run bad at high rpm i slow it down under 3000 and it run good i have changed the plugs 3 times this year thank you for any advise

There are 2 totally different 90 HP models in 1998.----Post your model number first.----Post the compression test values.

Is it a 90 degree crossflow ?----A 60 degree with optical ignition ?
