1998 Mercruiser 5.0L Alpha 1 s/n 0L060825 stalls when Idle and shifting out of gear

Have a 1998 Mercruiser 5.0L Alpha 1. Stalls when at idle occasionally and when rev up engine then return back to Idle, stalls immediately.
Fuels good, new plugs, fuel filter, and carb is clean. Anyone experiencing the same issues?

This happens if the idle RPM is not set correctly, carb needs adjusting or the shift interrupter needs adjusting

I have same problem, kind of. Only stalls when in water shifting into reverse. Same year, Alpha 1, 5.0 Thunderbolt V. Shifts fine with muffs.
