Hi guys! I need help with the outboard. We have an issue, not long ago the boat went through a floor change on the 1998 Sea Ray, the fuel tank were emptied, but the addition oil tank, the big one not. The boat has a fuel/water separator. Got new trigger and starter. Somehow always getting water into the fuel. Pressure and spark good. And on the top carb where the fuel line goes in ( we didn't find the exact location) sometimes steam goes out like from the steam train. Into a big bucket works for minutes, doesn't die, but on the lake after a couple of minutes always gets water into the fuel, and the engine chokes and stops. We don't see mixed fuel into the fuel filter when it dies, only milky fuel. After we pump out the fuel a bit, works like a charm again for couple of minutes, than dies again, water gets into the fuel.
Thnks any help or idea.

The carbs was cleaned, the engine got cleaned with sea foam a bit. Peeing well. Any idea how can we diagnose the problem without bringing into the shop?

If you see milky fuel into the fuel filter, the main tank likely has water in it.

Start with a clean portable fuel tank. Fill with new fuel from a reputable source. See if you still see milky fuel. I
