I recently purchased a clean, low time 1998 Sea Rayder with 175 Merc Sport Jet. This is my second Sea Rayder. The first one was a 120. On the older boat, if I turned off the key switch, it would kill the engine, just as if I used the on-dash rocker switch that starts and stops the motor. On this latest boat, the only switch that kills the engine is the rocker switch on the dash. If I turn the key to the off position, it seems to only kill part of the engine. It sounds like it loses a few cylinders, but does not kill the engine. Can anyone hepl?
