98 sea ray blows ignition fuse only when throttle is above 3\4 for 1 minute . I read this exactly off another forum site but it's exactly what mine does, same year etc. Couldn't get any response off that forum. I only have 20 hours on mine. Did hit a rock and blow that fuse last year but now what??

Re: 1998 Searay Mercruiser Ignition Fuse

Is the motor an EFI? Where is the fuse and how many amps is it?

Regarding the rock, can't think of any relationship except maybe for the trim limit switch and sender on the gimbal ring. The sender is a ground to the gauge so that shouldn't be it, but maybe the trim limit.

Actually, the trim system fuse is separate from the ignition system anyhow, so that shouldn't be it either.

EFIs use a lot of juice, but that goes through the breaker on the motor, not a fuse. And there's the fusable link on the starter, but you'd have said "fusable link".

How many gauges do you have? They'd be powered by that fuse. Do the instrument lights go on with the key or with a separate switch? Are there accessories tapped into the ignition switch? They're primarily set-up for just the motor ... minimal or no accessories.

I guess I'll have to concede to being baffled by this one.
