1998 volvo penta shifter control

im looking for a bare wire in the area of the shifter control, would like some advise on how to remove the control handle. thanks.

Post a picture of your control. Hard to say what type control is on your boat. From your other post, it sounds like you have an OMC control, not Volvo.
