1999 115 carb.merc

I was told when I bought my boat new that the engine had a feature that only used 2 cylinders at low speed. When you accelerated their has always been a point where it seemed you could feel the other two kick in. Recently the engine has been real slow to reach this point and last time out it never did. Could this be a fuel pump problem. Plugs and wiring are new.

I didn't believe they were using that technology back in '90. It's got to be more difficult to troubleshoot ignition problems with that feature, I'm guessing. If you posted your motors serial number, I bet one of the knowledgeable guys will chime in w/ something more usefull than me.

og909479 model 1-115412vd The reason I thought fuel was it seem to first show symptons when it the air temperature was really cold. I'm wondering if I'm just not getting enough fuel pressure to keep up.
