Up till last summer this engine has been a great runner. So last summer, we cruising along at 28mph on the lake when the engine just quit, just like it ran out of gas. Switched tanks and no start. Fortunately I have 15hp for trolling. Anyway I took it to one Evinrude dealer and they said the fuel system pumps tested good for pressures, but they lacked the software to support my engine. They told who to take it too. The second boat dealer change the fuel lines between the transom and the engine and said it ran fine on there fuel tank, but not on my tanks and therefore figured bad gas in my tanks. I brought the boat home, siphoned off the fuel (ran it through my motorhome). At this point I decide to change all the fuel lines/hoses, vent hoses, filler hoses, and both 3-way valve gas valves. What a job. Anyway, I didn't get test run it with muffs until this spring. It'll start and sometimes run rough, or like it was hunting, and eventually quit. Part of the time it just shuts down like the key was turned off. Other times it'll cough and quit. Sometimes it starts right up, other times it's hard to restart and sometimes it seems like the engine needs to be re-primed the engine (takes 2 or 3 squeezes). When I siphon fuel off the boat tanks through the supply lines, the fuel comes through clear without any air bubbles once I get all the air out of the line between the transom and fuel tanks. Since I changed all of the fuel lines, do you have to bleed the air out of the fuel lines to get any air in the system since it's fuel injected? The model number is E175FPLEEC if needed. I hate to put out the money for a new/used motor if this is a simple fix and if parts are available. Any thoughts or direction to fix my problem (if repairable) would be greatly appreciated.
