So yes, of course it's a new-to-me boat and I'm a boating newbie....previous owner and I reviewed oil level during purchase, etc..etc...
I've had it out four times...each time I checked the oil I thought it was high on the stick due to the angle of the boat sitting on the trailer, as I have to raise it super-high to get over the stepped hull (Regal Fastrac) to ensure all water goes out the drain.
Well, there's a little high on the stick, and just plain too much oil. I think the gent put an extra quart in. Leveled the trailer until the engine was horizontal...and stick shows 1.5" over full. Other than buying some $50+ suction attachment from the marina, is there a $10 Home Depot hose/suction system to pull out the excess?
And there is not even a hint of water or any other undesirable fluid....pure, clean oil.
Thanks Much!
