So I was out on the water and notice oil coming up in the water behind my boat from the lower unit.
Went home and found that the tube coming from the reservoir tank mounted up on top the the engine had come off the connector down at the lower unit. I cut the tube and replaced it on the connector and snapped it back on. Drained the lower unit to make sure there was not water in it...and there isn't! So that must just be a slow feed from the reservoir tank as the lower unit needs the oil?
Went back out the next weekend and it was still leaking. Just up from that connector is a silver rod with a bit of knob on it...can't tell if there is a tiny drip coming out of a hole on that rod or not?? Also there still appears to be some oil coming out of that connector where I zip tied the rubber tube on the connector. I am wondering if the o-ring on that connector is bad? I have to fill that reservoir tank on top of the motor at the end of each weekend.
Anyone seen anything like this in the past?
