1999 alpha 5.0L mercruiser exhaust shutters

I am replacing my manifolds this spring. Any benifit to replacing the shutters at the same time? No problems now but just want to know if its normal preventive maint.

IF they are in good shape, no reason to replace them. But inspect them when you take it apart. They could even be missing and you wouldn't know it.

i am replacing mine on my 1999 305. is there one or two of the shutters to replace?

Doesn't really matter anymore. The 2 shutter per side is the new style and replaces the old style single shutter.
