Trying to find a plastic elbow piece in the water hose routing. In the parts diagram it would be under the “tee” and connected to hose #3 in the thermostat section. Cannot for the life of me find it in a diagram and neither can local dealer. Thanks for any help

What parts manual / diagrams are you looking at ?-----There is a TEE shown for hose 2 / 3 / 4 ----5030616.-----If you have a SUZUKI dealer nearby they might offer better help than your current shop.

The parts diagram for that motor on Crowley marine. In the thermostat section it shows a “tee” as I said , but this is an elbow that is underneath the tee connected to bottom of short hose coming out of the bottom of tee

Found the part number, in crankcase section. 5032910. Of course nobody has it. Now I am trying to find it in Suzuki diagrams, apparently they put it in a different section, arghh!

Yes it is, and I did locate the part, thanks. Still having some issues, so will start from beginning. Motor had been in storage for years. Had a friend who supposedly knew outboards check it out and get it ready for the water. He didn’t mention that impellers should be replaced often and especially after sitting that long. Should have researched this myself so it is what it is.
son took it out, overheated it and literally melted a wire on top of thermostat and melted elbow. Initially after fixing wiring it would start and idle great but only with cover off. Found melted elbow, replaced it, impeller was devastated, replaced it. Now it starts, idles, revs up fine and runs with cover on. From what I have read, not running with cover on can be exhaust leak.
not sure what fixed the cover issue, but I am concerned about amount of pressure coming out of hole that elbow goes into on midsection. From what service manual shows the water from that elbow goes out propeller housing along with exhaust. If they were mixed together I suppose there would be pressure, but that wouldn’t let water flow down as it should. Thinking I have exhaust manifold leak into water passage. Learning a lot about outboard function, but the hard way! Going to test temp sensors and warning system and infrared temp check cooling areas. I suppose it would be best to pull exhaust manifold? As always thanks for any help.

Overheating can be very , very serious on these motors.-------So did you find all the impeller pieces ?------Have a 50 HP motor like that that suffered from serious overheat.----Did you determine how / why the overheat warning horn did not work ?----Or did son have no clue what the buzzer meant ?----Have you tested the overheat warning circuit now ??

Did find impeller pieces. Warning light does not come on when temp sensor ohms are reduced to zero. Warning lights all light up and go out one by one when key is turned on. Ran it in a tank and it warms up to around 120 on hoses, 135 on cylinders with the upper cylinder a bit warmer. Used an infrared camera on motor and it seems pretty even. Biggest concern now is warning system obviously, but also if there should be that much exhaust pressure coming out hole where water hose elbow goes into. Still trying to find out how exhaust and water are combined to exit prop. If this were a car engine I would assume cylinder head or exhaust manifold leak.

Racerone, you are apparently very knowledgeable about outboards, any suggestions on my next step? Thanks for any help

Water just dumps into the exhaust flow.--------The 50 HP Motor ( totally different ) had plastic chain chain tensioner parts melted.----Perhaps contact -------brownspointmarine-------As they have a lot of Suzuki experience.
