I am helping my friend get his boat back in the water this year and have been trying to troubleshoot a couple of problems... He had some muskrats chew through the fuel line while the boat sat in the water... We replaced the line, but the boat wouldnt' start. We replaced the plugs (lined up with the electrode pointed at the injectors) and I squirted a little fuel in the spark plug hole. The boat fired up and idled, but cut off when trying to open the throttle. Once that happened, it would not crank. We replaced the primer bulled, checked the lines, pulled the pick up tube in the gas tank and checked it, everything seemed fine. I hooked up the water and it started... We took it down to the lake and put it in the water, it cranked and ran for a few minute... He tried to advance the throttle and it stalled. We couldnt' get it cranked back up... Back to the house... We pulled the fuel line off again and checked for fuel flow. It flows freely while pumping the bulb only... We took it back down to the lake and it started and ran until we tried to give it some throttle... I also noticed that it didnt' seem to be smoking very much like a 2 cycle engine... I noticed there is a valve on the fuel line (like a valve on a tire), is this used to check fuel pressure for the injectors? Is there a fuel filter somewhere on the motor? I couldnt' find one... Is there any cut off feature if oil is not pumping through the injectors? Any thoughts? Thanks!
