I have a 1999 Evinrude 40 HP, Fuel injected(E40PL4EE)-heres what happens-Crank it up, set high idle for a few minutes to warm up, Everything good, if I dont high idle and then put it in gear I get the check engine light and when Im cruising at 4000ish RPMS and pull back to idle I get a check engine light, I turn off the key for a minute, crank it back and fine until I do all over again. Ive been reading on here about fuel restrictions-so I replaced the tank, the line(with new primer bulb) and fuel filter...I believe there is a high pressue fuel filter upstream from the injectors but i didnt replace that....other than the high press. filter..does anyone have any other ideas what it may be, its more annoying than anything.
