Please Help,
Last week I tried starting my boat multiple times with times, I put a charging on the battery for about an hour. Tried again, no luck. I might have tried too many times to start it. When I noticed smoke, coming from the positive and negative wires that run from the starter. The end result: both positive and negative wires were completely destroyed. I had the starter rebuilt, while it was being rebuilt I replaced three wires that run to the starter.
I installed the starter, hooked the negative cable up, no problem. The positive cable started to spark when I attempted to screw it down.
Would this is be a bad ground issue or another outlaying issue ? I replaced all the wires that were burned and I'm pretty sure I put them back in the same place. Nothing else has been touched.
