As a follow up from my previous posts, I have a 200 hp evinrude that has a starting issue. First thing in the morning, it cranks up and run great. But, it will fail to start later in the day. The tech has narrowed it to where only one cylinder fires. After much todo, he has resolved the issue by using 2 cranking batteries. After that "fix", it cranks everytime. Why is this so? He tells me we need 11 volts (?) even though the service manual says 10.5 should do it. Anything less and it won;t start. I don't mind putting the extra battery in the boat but I would like to try and solve the problem. And why does it start first thing?

Thanks.
