1999 ficht 200 reliability

hello just aqirred 1999 boat with 1999 ficht motor.stratos 295.i have known this rig since it was new as was owned by a buddy.picked up boat in sep 05 2 week later power heads lost power stated sqeaking a little.i took the boat to a omc dealer for inspection. they found 2 cylinders low on compression.so i hade powerhead rebuilt.dealer sent power head to flagship marine in fla for rebuild.so motor is fresh unstarted.the question is do i need to send emm out for enhancment to verify future reliability?

Actually the '99 ECU was pretty reliable compared to the early 2000 EMM's. The latest software revision should be installed, though, and the oil system re-set for breakin.<br /><br />What is more important is the injector system. They should be sent out to DFI Technologies for rebuilding and calibration, especially on the ones whose cylinders were damaged.

wow i really appreciate the feedback!i was wondering if anyone heard me.when you say injection system.do you mean the actual individual injectors?

also would i send the ecu and injectors and is this something a untrained person can do solo? any idea on cost?
