1999 ficht software issues...

i have twin 1999 90 hp fichts, ever since eric at efi in alabama updated my computers i have had nothing but problems, my one computer had to be rebuilt and i blew a motor because of it right after they messed with it, now i have taken everything into my own hands and am running the newest version diagnostic software on a windows 98 machine running as a command prompt in ms dos mode. my software reads everything fine until i want to verify the timing or update an injector, the computer will freeze or not respond to some commands etc... also the alabama guy made all of my computers injectors set to "replace" what ever that means, i tried to change that and now one of the injectors wont even fire and i cant seem to change it back, like the program froze itself after i messed with an injector name... am i good at :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: :eek: bad luck or what! anyone have a clue?

What version of the software are you using?<br /><br />If it is 1.42b, then it should work OK in Windows 98 without resorting to the DOS emulation.<br /><br />Make sure you don't have any screensavers or other memory resident programs running at the same time.

When the program freezes or fails to update the engine, try disconnecting the battery from the engine for 30 seconds or more. You need a complete power down not just turning off the key.

i will try that. one question is, is how do i fix the problem with my injectors, i want to put them all back to normal, they all said "replace" on them and i pushed "1" and all the injecors said nothing, and "1" said a serial # . when i tried starting the motor, the first injecor doesnt fire now??? what do i do???

i run the program in dos prompt from star up, i dont think screen savers etc will function there??
