My 1999 120HP Force starts right up but bogs down when I accelerate the throttle. Sounds very throaty and won't accelerate as if not firing on all plugs. I pulled the carbs and they look clean and reed valves are intact. I have good spark on all cylinders, rebuilt the fuel pump and carbs two years ago and also recently replaced the primer valve. Been running fine all year. This one's got me stumped. Could it be one of the recirculation valves? I would appreciate any ideas.

If you have verified spark on all four cylinders, then check the fuel system from the tank pick-up to the carbs for partial clogs. If you have a fuel quick-connect, check for air leaks and partial clogging. With 10% ethanol fuel, the fuel pump diaphragm will age and harden. Two years is a decent life span. Just on general principals replace it.

My neighbor bought a NEW squeezie and it was bad.
The ethanol causes the hoses to fail.
The inside of the hose can collapse and shut down the fuel.
I removed the inline fuel connector and threw them out.
Buy E resistant hose.
The recirc system shouldn't have anything to do with bogging.
I'd install a water/fuel seperating filter in the line.
