I have a 1999 force 90hp that i bought last year. i am now just getting it started. I put the muffs on it and i ger good flow through the exhaust and a hole towards the middle of the lower unit. but i dont get much if any flow out of the weep hole except when i bring the rpm's up. I have blown through the hose and checked the weep hole for clogging. I have read about thermostats and was wondering if this motor will have less out of the weep hole when it is first started and when it gets warmer it will flow more. I have not got the head real warm in fear of overheating the motor.

Any help is appreciated.

I have read through the other posts and cant seem to find a match to this issue on my year and hp

thanks in advance

i believe this is normal - mine does the same but not the same year of course. As long as you have water stream out the side of the engine you are good.

I just realized that i called it a "weep hole" when actually i mean that the discharge port coming out of the powerhead. So I guess i meant that the water only comes out of the discharge tube when i give the motor more rpm's.

Sorry for the rookie mistake

Usually only two bolts on the thermostat housing. Take it off , have a look & check that the thermostat is working with some hot water then have a poke up the tell tail with a bit of strimmer cable. As long as your impeller is in good order there shouldn't be any issues !
