I went over most everything with the previous owner, including him showing me all the new belts, and all the pulleys that I could see ran true.
Doing my carb rebuild, I was shining a flashlight down toward the forward engine mount while running, and can see the main pulley is wobbling.
The very center of it looks to be running true. I'd say it's about 1/8" out at one point during rotation. There is only one belt on it.
God only knows how long this thing's been that way, or if he bent it while putting all new belts on and just didn't look afterward with a flashlight to see if it ran true.
This looks like a bear to get to. I'm thinking this one will go to my end-of-season rebuild list (another $183 part that of course showed up "out of stock").
Think this will do any damage to the front block seal, or just lower belt life?
Thanks!!
