1999 johnson 115 trim guage not working

I replaced my merc with a 1999 Johnson 115. I replaced my merc trim guage with omc gauge and conected the ignition wire to the I , ground wire to the G and the s wire also conected the light. When i turn on the key i see a slight jump on my trim guage then it goes back to the bottom. When i trim the motor the guage doesnt move. Ant thoughts ?

That hole will make a great place for an hour meter or a water pressure gauge. You really do not need the gauge.

True ! I wasted over 2 hours today ! I lived without one with my merc so i guess i can live without one with the johnson !
