1999 Mercury 40 hp performance issue

I ran my 16 ft. aluminum twice this season with<br />great performance using a 2 stroke 1999 40 hp merc. The third time out it bogged down (would not plane). Having banged the prop slightly,in my driveway my thinking was that i may have <br />done some damage to the prop (hub). Being that i didnt have a spare prop,I purchased a new one as well as having the original repaired. That didn't<br />solve the problem But i now a spare prop, than <br />it occurred to me that i never changed the spark plugs after being winterizing from the close of last season. I pulled the plugs and sure enough<br />they looked black and burnt. the carbs looked really clean upon inspection. do you think that I will be good to go after changing the plugs?<br />Are there other things i should be doing or examining?
