I have found some leaking rivets on the keel guard and want to permenently fix the problem. I have heard of people suggesting taking off the keel guard and re rivet but am not sure of the process. I have tried to use 5200 and jb weld but it doesn't seem to stop all the leaks. My thought was to 5200 again and then paint the bottom of the boat. Any thoughts?

Please do not remove the metal keel to repair it. It will be an experience (spelled NIGHTMARE)you would never forget.

The best way to repair leaks in an aluminum boat is to rebuck loose rivets, replace missing rivets and the real deal is the use of gluvit on the offending seams and rivets. It's the best leak proof treatment used and iboats sells that and the various sealants here Fiberglass & Epoxy Boat Repair & Building

Do a search for gluvit and you will see how common it is here.
