so, I bought my boat and I couldn't get the engine to get below 1000 rpm and it was erratic for sure. I rebuilt the carb, no solution....so then I figured i had an air leak somewhere. Come to find out whomever replace the gaskets didn't use the correct ones for the engine. So, I bought these fel-pro gaskets that are printtoseal. They fit perfectly, but they are think and the intake nolonger sits on the engine block and the gap is nearly the same thickness as the gasket......has anyone come across this? When I search other gaskets for my application....it seems they're all printtoseal or thicker gaskets. Slightly confused and a bit nervous to fill the gap between the intake and block with rtv sealant. I'm not sure it'll hold or seal properly. Thoughts?
