1999 vx225 tlrp yamaha

I'm not an outboard guy,so if you help me you will have to teach me some of the tec stuff

When I try to get on plane,It starts to bog down even if I open all the way.

Once I get on plane runs good until I get past 3000 rpm than dies,take out of gear starts back up fine.I do the same thing over and over.Did bog down before but not die.I can't take to a shop right now, knot enough money right now.
