1999yama225ox66 oil use

after all these years realized we use oil at 30 to 1 ratio. know about resetting pump rod. question is --she runs great , doesnt foul 02sensor, should i risk decreasing oil to 50 to 1 now?

Well I set mine to specs and it runs great also at about 50/1. 97 225 ox66 with about 1000 hours on it.

Do you mean you're premixing the gas? That'd be the only way posible. That pump won't pump any richer that 50:1, even out of adjustment. The only thing adjusting the rod will do is move the position where the pump changes from a lean to a richer pumping rate. I promise you, 30:1 would've fouled plugs and clogged the O2 sensor passage long ago.

can ya post a model number, in and about that year the 225 was made in two different block configurations. most the 3.1 blockx had an issue with the oil link rod thats still no addressed. however there is a cure.
