Hi all,
I just joined today and wanted to get some opinions about how to proceed with this.
I guess I should start with saying I have done fiberglass work on boats and cars and I do have all the tools to do just about any repair.
I just redone my 21ft Carolina skiff myself (transom, and hull damage from flying off the trailer)
I bought this boat and the guy I got it from had bought it for the trailer that was under it. So he couldn`t give me much info on it other than he thought the owner hit something while running. This is the only structural hull damage the rest is cosmetic.
I plan on taking the top off and the floor has delaminated and has some rot under the console so the floor is coming out. The transom is solid.
The crack is close to the bunkboard near the bottom but not on the bottom.
I lowered the bow to make the boat level and filled the hull to the subfloor level to see if the crack went all the way through and it didn`t leak any water out (The gas tank is on top of the subfloor so nothing other than wires were wet)
I would appreciate any input as I`m not a expert on boat structural failure.
I included some pics of the before and after from my Carolina skiff mishap. It`s still in the works but is getting close tobeing finished.
