I was trying to replace one of the fuel pick up fittings on my 87 230 Wellcraft Coastal and broke it off. The fittings are molded into the tank . The easy solution seems to be plug the broken one and tee off the other. I did this and ran the motors about six hours. They ran fine. I was told that maybe this was not a good idea. Any comments, concerns or solutions.

Thanks
Jimmy

Here is what my 86 factory manual says about fuel pickups: 3/8" tank fuel pickups are required for any 200 hp and up engine. 3/8 is preferred for engines below 200 hp, where a minimum of 5/16" is required. Two separate pickups tubes are required for any dual engine installation.
