OMC never rated the Sea Drives in terms of horsepower. The 2.5 is a V6 crossflow and ranged in outboard horsepower from 150 to 200 depending on port configuration and RPM's. <br /><br />If you are repowering with an outboard, any of the V6's will give you as good as or better performance, especially a looper. The outboard will be more versitial as far as mounting goes. You will be able to raise and lower it to fine tune your set up.<br /><br />Good luck!
