2.5 Vintage Elgin Half Spark

Hello all!

I've got a '56? Elgin. I used it all last summer fine. It sat for the winter, and now I only have spark on one cylinder. I swapped the plugs and both plugs work.


What am I looking at to troubleshoot?

Check your points and make sure they're clean.

If you still don't have spark on the one cylinder after cleaning the points, then swap the condensors and see if the other cylinder gets spark.

If that still doesn't work, check and make sure the connector in the boot has a clean connection.

If after all these free tests fail and you still don't have spark, then I'm sorry to say that it's likely your coil.
