2.5l running question

Ok so i got a 1985 with a 2.5l and its been sitting for a year or so and i put a new coil,points it started ran great at low rpm's and high rpm's shut it off for a sever hours and went to start it again and would only start at full throttle and if i held the choke valve open. Any help or suggestions is help full

did you change plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filters, set dwell/timing??

these parts/procedures are part of a full tune-up

do you pump the throttle when trying to start the engine cold??

Ayuh,... Sounds like it might be floodin',.... Are the spark plugs gettin' Wet,..??

Changed every but fuel filter and i didnt check the plugs after wards i just went inside and called it a night. And i pump the throttle two or three times to get some fuel in the intake

sounds like its flooding, upon shutdown of the engine, check the carb throat to see if fuel is running/dripping out the venturi clusters

if so its time for a carb rebuild

Wells its the electric choke was messin up
