I have a 1989 three point 7 mercruiser 2 barrel carburetor. Last week I made some adjustments on the points and the mixture settings to get a better idle out of the boat. Now the idle is perfect and where it should be .The new problem is when you come out of an idle and put it in gear, if you give it gas too quickly It will make a few pops out of the carb two or three times and then stalls. The only way out of this is to gradually give it throttle, wait for it to finally catch up as the boat begins to increase speed then you can give it more acceleration , it's like a bogging scenario. What adjustments would you recommend? Gap on the points or a air fuel mixture.
