2 beeps when starting

I have 2008 90 optimax and this started last fall every time I turn the key to start I get the first beep which is normal but then I get a second beep just before the motor starts . I put a brand new battery in this spring and for one afternoon out I did not get the second beep . From then on it happens all the time . my mechanic says he could not find anything wrong . Any ideas ?

Could be a dirty start switch in the control box making and breaking contact as you rotate it or a faulty warning module would be my two guesses. Whether or not you worry about it is up to you. Since the warning module may be affected, one has to think about if it would be available to send the warning signal when needed for a malfunction.
