Can someone tell me if I am OK? I have no idea how big or small my pictures are. The Gone Fishing sign is a link.

TexSkeeter150:

Gone Fishing is 144x99
The other image is 135x101

Together they are over the limit. One or the other would be fine. The Gone Fishing image does not seem to link anywhere.

Thank you for your cooporation.

Mod4

Re: 2 Days notice to reduce signature images

Excuse me if mistaken, but file load speed is a result of their byte size, not necessarily the resolution, or lines.

IE- an 100kb file loads slower than a 50kb file.

I do not believe that the lines of resolution IE 640x480 -vs- 400x200 load any faster or slower assuming that both files are the same byte size. The difference is that the 400x200 will appear sharper.

Thus summing line resolution values together (for two images for example) is not a true file size value.

Pat, thank you for your input. For whatever reason, we had members complain about the speed of opening threads. That combined with the fact that iboats needs to free up bandwidth, action is necessary.

Mods don't make the rules, we just enforce them.

Ahoy Mod4--And I feel for folks with slow loads too because I have dial up at the humble castle. Generally I can only connect at 40 kbs--real slow compared to the broad band I use at work.

Thus-I do appreciate limiting sig image file size. Threads that grow to having lots of photos load real slow for me too.

Regardless, it is the file size in bytes that determines download speed, or-time. Not the physical viewable size of an image.

Iboats sig image viewable size of 150x600 lines of resolution, or whatever it is, is generous and appropriate-thanks. And 5kb file size is great as well. Faster loads for us dial up folks. :)

Done. Sorry it took me so long to comply.
