I have a Chevy 350 and Pre Alpha outdrive. I was siphoning my gas and noticed there's actually 2 valves that come from the tank.

One better than the other for siphoning?

One goes to the water seperator, then fuel pump and filter. The other goes straight to the engine it looks like. Here's a pic

Are you getting gas out of both of them?

Where is the one that isn't connected to the water separator hooked to your engine at?

The one on the left has the anti-siphon valve and should be going to your water separator. The other one should be vented outside of the boat...

You won't get squat out of the one on the right. It's a vent which is just welded to the top of the tank. The pickup (on the left) has a pipe or tube that runs to the bottom of the tank where the gas actually is. You'll have to remove the anti-siphon valve on the pickup in order to siphon anything. You can replace it with a 1/4" NPT brass fitting for an air compressor for siphoning purposes.

Got it, thanks. I siphoned out of the one on the left. Right is the vent. Just wondered what the on on the right was. I didn't totally follow it to the end, but it looked like it was heading somewhere around the engine. It probably is, i'll double check it.

The one on the right is your tank vent - it should be routed overboard. If it DOES go to the engine, it is wrong and needs to be corrected ASAP...
