So I know this is going to be quite an easy answer for a lot of you. I have an 18 foot Crestliner fishing boat that i'm going to be putting on a 35 hp johnson. It already has a 9.9 Mariner and I don't want to have to switch both motors on and off back and forth. So by keeping both on at the same time i'm wondering how you tow this way? I have a transom saver for the midsection and not sure what i'll do about the 9.9. I've seen guys just use the tilt and put them all the way up and then put a strap from both sides of the trailer around the lower unit of the motors. Let me know what the proper way of doing this is, thanks.

If the skeg on the 9.9 is a foot or more off the ground when in the full down position, you don't need a transom saver. If not, then you need to secure the 9.9 because the tilt lock on most motors is not designed to take the abuse of a flopping motor at highway speeds. Use the tilt lock, but strap or bungee the motor to prevent any movement.
